Micro-phlebectomy is a minor procedure in which tiny incisions are made along the varicose vein allowing it to be removed. These very small incisions generally do not require stitches. The procedure is done in the office using a local anesthetic. The procedure usually takes approximately 45 minutes. A compression bandage is worn for 48 hours after the procedure and patient may go back to the activities of daily living after the procedure. No strenuous activity is recommended for one week after the procedure.
